YOUTH & FAMILY CENTER RECEIVES $80,000 IN TAX CREDITS ST. LOUIS, July 16, 2007 - The Missouri Department of Economic Development has awarded The Youth & Family Center $80,000 in Youth Opportunity Program (Y.O.P.) tax credits. The tax credits, when fully utilized, will provide $160,000 in revenue for the North St. Louis agency. “We are very excited to receive these tax credits,” said Herman Noah, Executive Director. “Through this opportunity, donors can support our programs at very little out of pocket cost. These credits directly benefit both our donors and the families we serve.” By combining a donation with the Y.O.P. tax credits, donors may receive both federal and state income tax deductions, along with a tax credit of 50 percent of the amount of their gift. For some donors, a $1,000 gift may actually only be as little as $90 out of pocket. The Y.O.P. tax credits can be utilized by both individual donors and corporations. Donors may contribute cash, securities or property to The Youth & Family Center in exchange for the Y.O.P. tax credits. For further information, please contact Herman Noah at 314-231-1147 or at herman@theyfc.org. The agency’s website can be found at www.theyfc.org. The Youth & Family Center has operated on St. Louis’ Near North Side since 1888. Its programs are directed at young people ages 5 to 17 and include after school programs, computer and technology programs, athletics, tutoring and educational programs and life skills development activities.
