| Youth Development Programs |
|
All Youth Development Programs offer a safe, nurturing, structured environment for the youth in the community. We provide youth with nutritious meals, academic support, and educational and recreational activities. YFC is dedicated to fostering a safe atmosphere where the youth can both improve their skills and have fun. We offer several different types of programs throughout the year. |
| After School Enrichment Program |
|
The program meets five days a week, beginning in September and ending in May. Our services include:
- Computerized academic assessments.
- Social development assessments.
- Individual goal plans Homework assistance.
- Specialized tutors.
- Computer training
- Cultural field trips
- College tours
- Art and music lessons
- Leadership & character development
- Teen Mentoring and Employment
- Spring Break Camp
Available for ages 6-18
2:30pm – 6:00pm; M – Fr
Fee: $10 a month
Discount available for families receiving free or reduced lunch. |
| Summer Day Camp |

The program meets five days a week, from June 15th through August 15th. Our services include:
- Breakfast, lunch, evening snack.
- Outdoor and indoor recreation.
- Academic enrichment.
- Reading comprehension.
- Art, reading, science projects.
- Educational field trips.
- Computer literacy.
- Health services.
- Social and leadership development
- Basketball Camps for Girls and Boys
Available for ages 6-12
8:30am – 4:30pm; M – Fr
Fee: $40 a week
-Scholarship or discount available for families receiving free or reduced lunch.
-Before Care (7:30am) & After Care (4: 30pm) Services offered. |
| Sports |

The program practices during after school hours of 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Games are held on weekdays and weekends. Program focus is on character development and sportsmanship. Our sports teams include:
- Soccer.
- Basketball.
- Baseball.
- Tennis.
- Swimming.
- Golf.
- Track.
Available for ages 4-14

| Science, Technology
and Culture Program |
|
The Science, Technology and Culture (STC) Program is a collaboration between University of Missouri Science Department (UMSL), Gateway Middle School and Youth and Family Center. UMSL provides the instructor, youth are recruited out of Gateway Middle School, Youth and Family Center provides transportation, training site and home computer for graduates. We count it as part of our afterschool program offerings. It meets once a week, Tuesdays, 3:30 – 5:00pm, September – May, Gateway Middle School students only.

| Jazzy Seniors |
|
The Jazzy Seniors program aims to provide adults 55 and over the opportunity for community socialization and education. The program meets three days a week nine months of the year. Our services include:
- Case Management.
- Nutritious meals.
- Fun Games.
- Arts & crafts.
- Exercise classes.
- Health screenings.
- Information and resource referrals.
- Cultural fieldtrips
Available for ages 55 and up
10:00am – 2:00pm; M, W, Th
